'At first I wanted to be a sculptor, through my drawing I could see that my perception of space was not good enough. I have spent my life tackling this weakness. I do not draw from static models, I always test myself through drawing from moving objects, especially dancers.

In recent years I have read a lot of books about neuroscience and the way our minds see and learn, this has been a big help and transformed the quality of my work in recent years.

My drawings are about space and movement.'
